When was the last time you sit down and talk to yourself? To see if you felt tired or happy, to check if you are content with the current situation. Regardless of our occupation, we’re constantly on the way to somewhere, the company meetings, the dentist appointment, the diner with friends. So when do we stop and ask ourselves, “how are you?”
Come join me into The Chrysalis, a space you’ll be wrapped with softness, where you could feel safe while talking to yourself.
By the entrance, you could see the creamy beige covering the whole space from the top to the bottom. They utilize the fabric to design a curvy walkway and set the structure to create the feeling like you're softly yet fully embraced in a chrysalis.
Just like we all have different stages as we grew up when the chrysalis is created means the energy of growth is condensed and the beautiful moment is coming very soon. The metamorphosis is designed as a metaphor with a series of questions, you will get a clear vinyl sheet clipped on the board and a marker before entering the aisle, where you could write down your thoughts on those questions.

At the end of this aisle in the chrysalis, there’s a mirror door that has the line of light slide through the gap.
“Through these questions, I hope you will get to know yourself better and when you look into the mirror, you like the person you see. This mirror will lead you to the future, once you walked over it, there’s no way back.”
Some beautiful surprise is waiting for you after the door, you know that now you’re stronger to soar within the world.
The chrysalis is the exhibition hosted by Blank Plan. Blank Plan is a compound space located in Taichung, Taiwan, newly opened this month. It’s a space for you to stay, to feel those precious moments in life, there are tea rooms where you could learn the tea culture, coffee bars where you could brew yourself a cup of warmth, and the exhibition space where keeps you safe from the chaos outside and you could browse the art with calmness.
